TaiChi/Qigong Practice

Saturdays 9-10:00am

To support each other in daily practice of the ancient Taoist art of cultivating internal energy through simple, gentle, yet powerful movements, we come together on Saturday mornings for an hour of exercise, with a short period of meditation-in-stillness mixed in.  Currently our movement practice is Shibashi -- the 18 Movements.  It's easy to learn, sequentially stretches and rotates muscles and joints throughout the body, deepens the breathing, improves balance and brings many other health benefits when practiced regularly.  Wear comfortable layered clothing; barefoot is nice; water bottle is helpful; meditation cushion or bench is optional (chairs and a few cushions are available).

Beginners are welcome.  Our informal leader, Nancy Farr, provides guidance and tips for learning the movements and increasing ease and enjoyment.  Video(s) of Shibashi and information about health benefits are available at www.naturalawareness.net/qigong-practice.htm.

A contribution of $3 per session is encouraged but not required.

Note:  We'll practice in the Twisp City Park on warm, dry Saturdays.  A sign will be posted on the Studio door when we're at the park.
